Operations Excellence Academy Darmstadt 2016

A McKinsey & Company event designed for people interested in operational excellence. Test your abilities in a real learning environment with leading experts from our European Operations Practice.

Are you interested in operational excellence and performance transformation? Do you thrive developing unconventional solutions to complex problems? Are you an advanced undergraduate, a graduate student or an MBA/PhD student with a basic theoretical grounding and practical experience? Or a professional with initial work experience in the field of operations?

We invite you to share your ideas on operational excellence with us at our Operations Excellence Academy on November 24-25, 2016 in Darmstadt, Germany.

How can you compare and combine product and process data in order to identify deviations from target and process improvements? What technical efforts are necessary and what are the economic benefits? How can a product determine the process and thereby support the workers?

The Operations Excellence Academy offers you a unique opportunity to get an insight into the day-to-day work of a McKinsey Operations consultant during an interactive Industry 4.0 workshop. You will work on developing best practice in the field of operational excellence and step into the consultant role within a team of passionate professionals and McKinsey consultants. New experiences, pertinent knowledge, and surprising results are guaranteed.

Silvia Bruno
Service Operations Engagement Manager in London

"I have attended the Operations Excellence Academy as faculty for the last two years and can't wait to attend this year's event. It's a great opportunity for everyone interested in operations to learn more about our work at McKinsey – and to do so in an informal, engaging atmosphere. We are planning for the event to be informative and at the same time, hands-on. This will include real-life exercises and simulations of the work we do every day with clients. Above all, the event is a great opportunity to get to know the participants, share passions and interests, and have fun together."

Daniel Gass

"The Operations Excellence Academy provided me with great insights into McKinsey and particularly, McKinsey's Operations Practice. The event provided a fantastic opportunity to meet other people with a passion for operations, to get an impression of the culture of the firm, and to learn more about what it's like to work as a consultant at McKinsey. After attending the Operations Excellence Academy, I decided to join McKinsey's Operations Practice as a Fellow Intern for the summer of 2016. If you have any interest in operations and want to find out more about what working as a McKinsey consultant is like, I can only encourage you to apply."

Xabier García-Diego

"I participated in the Operations Excellence Academy in 2012. The event was an unique opportunity to learn more about McKinsey in general and the Operations Practice in particular. The experience was great, totally different from what I experienced before. The environment really encouraged the teams to be creative and find real time solutions to the proposed problems with the help of Operations Consultants. After this event I realized that I wanted to be a consultant at McKinsey's Operations Practice after finishing my studies! Since May 2015 I am part of the team!"

Cinzia Lacopeta
Program Manager in Milan

"My first time participating in the Operations Excellence Academy was in 2012 at the Venice Model Factory – then in Amsterdam, then Munich. It is always a great opportunity to meet such a rich pool of young talent with a high level of energy who are able, in just a couple of hours, to transform a production line (no matter if it's a compressor line or a mortgage process) into a lean, effective configuration. I also really appreciate the strong interaction and open questions addressed about the life of a consultant and the way to follow your passions within a McKinsey career path. I'm very much looking forward to being part of the organization team for the next Operations Excellence Academy."
